Assurant to Cooperate with SEC Request for Information

NEW YORK, NY - May 3, 2005 -- Assurant, Inc. ("Assurant") (NYSE: AIZ), today announced that it received a subpoena from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on May 2, 2005 seeking documents relating to "certain loss mitigation insurance products." Assurant intends to fully cooperate with the SEC's request.
